New Laboratory Equipment

Grotech Production continue to invest in new equipment to improve efficiency and have recently invested in some new laboratory equipment to aid in their QC.

Delivered and set up last week, the FT-IR (Fouier Transform Infrared Spectrometer) with ATR (Attenuated Total Reflectance Attachment) can be used to test very small samples of liquids and solids and identify what they are made from.

The material being tested absorbs infra-red light when excited by a laser and the resulting spectrum can then be compared with a library of spectra to identify which chemicals are present.

This new equipment is intended to be used for qualitative analysis for R&D purposes and as a troubleshooting tool for any investigations that may be carried out.

The Grotech Production laboratory team are now busy building up a library of spectra from all of our materials and products, so that these may be identified quickly and reliably in the future.  The FT-IR with ATU can then help with Grotech Production QC and can ensure that raw materials that are delivered to Grotech are as expected.
