NOT everything in life smells attractive and inviting and here at Grotech Production Ltd we probably know that more than most!
As contract manufacturers and packers with more than 30 years’ experience primarily in the agrochemical, horti-chem and general chemical industries, many a different powder, liquid or granule comes our way, often with their own distinctive odour.
Sometimes the fragrances that have been so carefully selected by customers are pleasant and a joy to work with. Other times they can become so overpowering that our packing staff ask for a break. On occasions – such as when working with garlic compounds – we can become so used to the smell that we forget about it…. until we get home that is, and our families tell us what we’ve been doing that day!
Whenever a smelly compound is noticeable we try to remove it from the working environment by using a carbon filter extraction system so shielding our operators. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always work and if the odour is so pungent that we can’t eliminate it, we have been known to turn the work away.
Happily, this doesn’t occur very often and with our staff made of stern stuff – and a basket of pegs to hand – we willingly turn our expert hand to manufacturing and packing whatever product is required.
