THERE is no doubt that spending time outdoors, pottering amongst the pansies or giving the lawn a trim, is definitely therapeutic for many and no more so than in today’s climate of social distancing and isolation.
At Grotech Production Ltd, as we celebrate the Royal Horticultural Society’s National Gardening Week (April 27 – May 3), we are pleased to endorse this year’s theme of Sowing the Seeds of Friendship, encouraging people to spread their passion for plants by sharing their gardening exploits with others, either online or over the phone. We have sown our own bed of wildflowers against the railway embankment at the back of the factory.
A recent poll by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) revealed that while some 52% of people have experienced feeling alone, more than half of these enjoy being surrounded by greenery and another 53% said it boosts their mood.
At a time when our ability to get out and enjoy the great outdoors is severely limited, our gardens and balconies are an important way for us to maintain our physical health, wellbeing and take advantage of gardening’s mood enhancing benefits.
Now in its ninth year, the RHS’s National Gardening Week is a huge celebration of gardening in the UK. It raises awareness of the difference gardens and gardening can make to people’s lives and inspires would-be gardeners to experience the joy of growing.
Grotech specialises in contract manufacturing and packing for the horticultural market producing a range of products designed to help your garden grow. If you are looking for ideas of how you too can take part in National Gardening Week, why not:
