CELEBRATIONS are underway at Grotech Production Ltd after MD Martin Usher was presented with the accolade for Large Business of the Year at the Goole and Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards 2022 at the weekend.
It is the third time that Grotech has won at the annual awards which are now in their 11th year. In 2020 and 2018 the company won Best Environmental Business as well as overall Business of the Year award in 2018.
Grotech overcame stiff competition from waste management contractors Biffa and online technology retailer Ebuyer to land Large Business of the Year at the award ceremony at Goole Academy hosted by former BBC presenter Harry Gration.
Established some 40+ years ago, Grotech Production Ltd is an ambitious bespoke contract manufacturer and packer based in Goole and employing 36 people. The company specialises in the production of blended liquids, powders and granules for multiple sectors with particular expertise in the agriculture and horticulture chemical industries.
With its own R&D laboratories, production, packing and storage facilities, Grotech prides itself on being able to take a germ of an idea and develop, formulate, make, pack and ship it!
The company’s submission for the award outlined how Grotech has grown in recent years attracting and retaining a number of new customers. Having invested more than £130,000 in new equipment to improve productivity, quality and operator safety, the company has also developed and implemented its own performance date capture system enabling real-time monitoring and decision making to drive up productivity still further.
As a result, Grotech Production Ltd has seen sales increase by 25% year on year for the last three years.
