Skin Care Success at Grotech
At Grotech Production, we believe that good health and safety is about more than policies — it’s about care, consistency, and keeping people at the centre of every process.
That includes looking after skin health. Many of our roles involve working with powders, liquids, and other substances that, if not handled correctly, can potentially cause skin health issues. We take that responsibility seriously.
Why We Carry Out Skin Surveillance
Our skin health surveillance programme is part of a wider system of controls that helps us prevent harm and protect our team. The checks are carried out regularly by trained internal staff using non-invasive methods, and they give us the opportunity to:
- Identify any developing issues early
- Respond to individual concerns
- Ensure our processes aren’t contributing to skin health problems
Everyone’s skin is different — and people face their own individual challenges when it comes to sensitivity, exposure history, or other medical factors. What matters is that no issues have been triggered by Grotech-related work, and we’re confident that our practices are continuing to support safe and healthy outcomes.
Encouraging Positive Habits
We continue to encourage the use of moisturiser, barrier creams, and good hygiene practices across the business. These simple habits help prevent discomfort, support skin recovery, and are a valuable addition to the personal protective equipment (PPE) already in use. Barrier creams are never a replacement for proper controls — but when used correctly, they can be a useful extra layer of protection.
We also make sure staff are informed, supported, and know how to look after their hands day to day — especially during tasks that may involve physical handling, weather extremes, or prolonged glove use.
Part of the Culture
What makes the difference is culture — not just compliance. At Grotech, we aim to create an environment where people feel comfortable speaking up, raising concerns, and taking action when something doesn’t feel right. By listening, checking in, and making everyday improvements, we help keep each other safe.
Our skin health monitoring has now been in place for several years, and we’ve seen the benefits first-hand. We’ll continue our focus on preventative care and maintain the systems that keep people protected — quarter by quarter, year after year.
